As the word ‘systems’ from alarm systems suggests, it is a set of things working together as parts of a mechanism or an interconnecting network. Therefore this means that these components work in unison to form an alarm system.
These components include:
1. Control panel : A control panel is the central hub of an alarm system. It acts as the brain of the system, coordinating and managing all functions.

2. Sensors: There are different kind of sensors and Each type of sensor is designed to detect specific types of threats and can be strategically placed to cover various points of entry or sensitive areas within the property. This network of sensors, combined with the control panel, helps create a comprehensive and effective alarm system. The kind of sensors commonly used are : Motion sensors , smoke and fire detectors, pressure mats , environmental sensors , glass break and vibration, door & window contacts.

3. Alarm/Sirens:
Alarms and sirens are crucial components of an alarm system because they serve as the audible and visual alerts that notify both occupants and others (like neighbors or passersby) that there is an emergency or security breach. They are activated when the control panel receives a signal from a sensor that indicates a potential threat.

4. Keypads and Touchscreens.
Keypads and touchscreens are key user interfaces in an alarm system, allowing occupants to interact with and control the system. They provide a means of arming, disarming, and configuring the alarm system, along with accessing system settings and status updates.

5. Panic buttons,
Panic buttons are an essential tool for ensuring immediate response in emergencies, whether for security, health, or personal safety. They provide a fast and effective way to get help when it’s needed most.
